From a story that brought us together, to a space for a million more.
To democratize filmmaking by providing accessible tools, resources, and a collaborative community where every storyteller can bring their vision to life—regardless of budget, connections, or experience.
To become the world’s most trusted platform for independent filmmakers, where creativity thrives, talent is discovered, and stories that matter find their audience.
Hi, we’re the team behind Short Film Universe.
And honestly? We’re still figuring it out.
We didn’t set out to build a platform. We were just two people trying to tell stories — and somehow, those stories brought us together.
One of us comes from the world of films — sets, lenses, chasing shots. The other came from marketing — crafting campaigns, building brands. Somewhere along the way, we realised we didn’t just want to sell stories — we wanted to make them.
That’s when our paths crossed. Not in a boardroom. Not at a casting call. But somewhere in the middle of a shared dream — to create something real.
We tried making a short film. But turns out, that’s easier said than done.
We ran pillar to post for everything — cast, crew, gear, locations. And in that whole hustle, something began to fade: The actual joy of storytelling.
It made us wonder: How many others like us are out there? People with incredible ideas and zero access — stuck waiting, stuck worrying, stuck watching their dreams collect dust?
We didn’t have connections. We didn’t have funding. We didn’t have a godfather or a magic door.
So, we decided to build one.
A space where creators like us could stop waiting and start doing. Where actors, filmmakers, and crew could collaborate, learn, experiment, and grow — together.
We poured everything we had — time, energy, mistakes, midnight calls — into making this real. It’s not perfect. But it’s personal. And it’s built from the same place your dreams come from: a love for the craft.
If you’re someone who’s ever felt like you’re running in circles, chasing your first break — we get it. We’ve been there. We are there.
And maybe, just maybe, this is the beginning of your story too.
To be continued…
